Sacred co-creation: the mutuality of bee and flower. Fungi and algae. Hyphae and roots. The very foundation of nature is based on cooperation and mutual benefit. Plants only exist in the forms we know them as today solely due to their mycorrhizal (fungal) associations. Ancient wisdom that only exists because of mutualism, down to the structures within your cells. At this scale it starts to become difficult to determine if something is an “individual” or a “relationship”. When I see a flower blooming, fungi appearing after a long rain, or a squirrel burying an acorn, I now see much more than just an individual. I see connections so far reaching and so grand that it’s impossible for my human brain to fully comprehend what nature is unfolding at this very moment.
Inspired by cattleya orchids, this otherwordly orchid being will forever be in bloom!
This is a hand-cut wall hanging on upcycled wood. (maple). Paint (acrylic gouache) has been prepped, and sealed with varnish. Features a saw tooth hanger on the back for discreet and seamless hanging.
Nature has always been my biggest inspiration. I hope that these pieces add a little touch of magic to your space. Each piece is one of a kind, and made with love.
